Windows 10: Any recommendations for a free and reliable screen recorder?

I have always used the Xbox Game Bar for Windows 10, however my main purpose for screen recording is for my engineering programming classes (specifically using Arduino right now) and I always get a message saying “Game features aren’t available for the Windows desktop or File Explorer.”

Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Screen Recorder Software recommendations (preferably downloadable)

After that UK Amazon distributor that got delisted, I don't really trust reviews that are on an app's listing. Any recommendations of screen recorder apps.

I want to be able to do screen capture with audio. My experience has been that downloadable products are less glitchy because browser compatibility can be iffy.

To resolve your concern about screen recorder, follow the steps below:

• Click on the Windows logo found at the lower left hand corner of your desktop.
• Go to Settings.
• Click on System.
• On the left hand side, click on Storage.
• Click on This PC.
• Scroll down, and click on Temporary files.
• Click on Delete temporary files.
• Restart your computer, and then try screen recorder again.

Regarding the Windows shortcut for your screen recorder, follow the steps below:

• Open your Xbox application.
• On the left hand side, click on the Settings icon.
• Click on the Game DVR tab.
• Make sure Record game clips and screenshots using Game DVR is
  On.

Can not record audio.

• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.
