Any recommendations for remote desktop tools with cross-platform support?

    Hi!
I’m trying to find a reliable remote desktop tool that works smoothly across Windows, macOS, and Linux. I occasionally help out friends or colleagues who use different systems, so solid cross-platform support is important. I’d prefer something easy to set up, and if it includes file transfer, that’s a big plus.
I’d be grateful for your advice or any recommendations based on your experience.

    Remote desktop tool

I need a remote desktop tool that will allow me to connect to a linux computer from a windows computer. I am using ubuntu. My linux computer is my file server/ torrenting computer. I don't have a monitor to use for it (nor room for a monitor) so I was thinking I could just use a remote desktop tool. I would also like to be able to connect to other windows based machines (like my game server). Any sugestions on a good FREE remote desktop tool for windows and linux.

Cross-platform UWP Edge Shell and ChakraCore

    Hi,

Why isn't VSCode based on UWP Edge Shell and ChakraCore instead of Chromium and V8 (Electron)?

Why isn't Edge Shell programmatically available in a cross-platform way, the same manner as chromium is with Puppeteer through a remote protocol, for building desktop applications with a nodejs backend ?

As a universal platform, one expects to be able to build desktop applications with web technologies like webassembly, nodejs and programmatically use the Edge shell for the UI. Also, one expects those applications to be cross-platform by default.

    Thanks

    remote desktop

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Please help me with the below details to understand your issue in a better way:

    1. Are you using the Microsoft remote desktop app?

If you are using the Microsoft remote desktop app downloaded from
Microsoft store then, I suggest you to follow the steps to
fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store
    .

If the issue still persists with the Microsoft remote desktop app, then you can contact the support team by going to the

    link
and scrolling down to the bottom and clicking on
Microsoft remote desktop support under the Publisher info.

However, if you are using the Remote desktop connection, which comes pre-installed with Windows 10, then I suggest you to please post your question in the
    TechNet forum.

    Hope it helps.
