  1. Any way to change Microsoft Sans Serif

So I recently saw a tutorial on how to change the windows default font segoe ui but that did not change another font Microsoft Sans Serif

The font that i am almost 100% sure my browser uses it is the settings font, if its not microsoft sans serif please tell me which one it is

so the tutorial i did said to put this in a reg file see the first copy pasted below and it worked, but when i tried doing it with microsoft sans serif it says that it is not a reg file see code on 2nd copy paste below

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts]

"Segoe UI TrueType"="""Segoe UI Bold TrueType"="""Segoe UI Bold Italic TrueType"="""Segoe UI Italic TrueType"="""Segoe UI Light TrueType"="""Segoe UI Semibold TrueType"="""Segoe UI Symbol TrueType"=""[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes]"Segoe UI"="ENTER-NEW-FONT-NAME"

    2nd copy paste

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts]"Microsoft Sans Serif Regular TrueType"=""[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes]"Microsoft Sans Serif Regular"="Montserrat"

    :)

  3. Windows 10 Creators Update - Ms Sans Serif and MS Serif not showing greek char

Here is the second part of my tutorial on fixing MS Sans Serif font corruption due to the Creator Edition Update.

Unfortunately the registry fix I mentioned does not fix up all the programs using MS Sans Serif. There is another way to fix the fonts directly in the "exe" code of a program.

    Instructions:

    • Download "Resource Hacker" Resource Hacker and install it.
    • Backup your "exe" file before editing it.
    • Open your "exe" file with Resource Hacker and search for all occurrences of "MS Sans Serif" (use the Search menu, and F3 for search next).
    • Replace "MS Sans Serif" with "Arial" wherever it appears. (If there are a lot of dialog resources to fix, I suggest creating a temporary text file, type the with word "Arial". Copy "Arial" to the clipboard by copying it, then use the paste
tool in the "Resource Hacker" program to paste "Arial" wherever "MS Sans Serif" was found.)
    • Compile each font edit (use the "Compile" button).
    • Save your "exe" code (you might need to save it in a different directory and then copy it back to the program directory).

This method was able to make one of my installed commercial program usable again. I suspect this will work for any program that resists the registry fix.

Any way to change Microsoft Sans Serif

Is there a way to change the default font for names of files and folders on Win 10 to MS Reference Sans Serif Regular?

Original title: Sans serif font with serif version of uppercase letter "i" for names of files and folders.

In Win 7, names of files and folders were in the Segoe UI font. Advantage of this font is that all letters except the uppercase version of "i" are sans serif. Because the uppercase version of "i" is serif, it is distinct from the lowercase version of "L".
On my new XPS27 All-in-One desktop running Win 10, the uppercase version of "i" is sans serif and therefore easily mistaken for a lowercase version of "L". Why has this happened?

I notice that the font "MS Reference Sans Serif Regular" has the desired features observed for Segoe UI in Win 7. I have MS Reference Sans Serif Regular on my new PC. Is there a way to change the default font for names of files and folders on Win 10 to MS
    Reference Sans Serif Regular?
