Windows 10: Any way to disable how Shift overrides/disables the NumLock?

Hi all, as the title says, is there any way to prevent the Shift key from temporary disabling the NumLock key? I found many questions on the internet regarding that, mostly from gamers, but no solutions. It does that for my laptop too. With NumLock turned on the shift key turns off the effect of NumLock while it's pressed. Apparently it's always done that - certainly did back in 2004....

I did change the registry entries as advised in the link.

I noticed that now before I log in the numlock does appear to be on, but then when I log in to my user it is disabled again and there is not way to turn it back on.

Any other ideas?

 

Windows 10 disable NumLock accidentally enabled by user

In Windows 10, I made a simple typing error that enabled NUM LOCK.

I don't know how to disable it. My laptop doesn't have a NumLock key on the keyboard.

On Microsoft help discussions of troubleshooting, it is assumed I want to use BIOS and REGISTER to enable/disable NumLock permanently.

The same discussions point out that doing so will make some passwords disabled. . .

I just made a Keyboard error: isn't there a simply way to undo it?
