Windows 10: Any Way to Fix Critical Process Died Blue Screen?

I'm making this post on behalf of my boyfriend since this issue is with his computer. If there is additional info needed, please let me know and I can get it from him.


Recently, he downloaded a mod for Among Us. I think it was called Crew Link. From what I understand, it didn't work so he ended up uninstalling/deleting it. However, immediately after, his computer started giving him the Critical System Error blue screen. We've tried a few things, like checking to make sure the drivers are updated, trying to run it in safe mode and trying the start-up repair both did not want to work, and he has attempted to use Restoro. Although, every time Restoro says it is ready to repair, the computer freezes and crashes so it hasn't had the chance to actually try and fix anything. Our last ditch effort may be to take the computer in to one of our local computer repair shops.


Could he have accidently deleted something important? Could the mod possibly have been malware? Poor programming from the mod author?

Should we just take it in to an expert?

Critical process died

I am having the error "critical process died" and the blue screen. I am trying all the fixes that have been suggested. Now the PC is "scanning a repairing drive (C". It says it is 100% complete but has been that way for some time now. It is still
spinning so I hate to interrupt the process. Any idea how long this process takes after it says 100% complete?
