  1. Any way to forcibly change a driver for a device in Windows 10?

I have an Xbox One dongle that installs itself as an Xbox Gaming Device, but want to force it to use the Xbox 360 Controller driver instead - Without this change when the controller is connected, several buttons do not work. Device manager will let me "update the driver" but only gives me a list of Xbox One controller drivers. I've tried installing the Xbox 360 Controller driver from the Microsoft downloads page, but the installer fails. I assume that driver is prepackaged with Windows 10 but it's blocking me from changing to the driver I actually want to use.

Hoping there is a way to force it to let me pick from a list of all device drivers installed.

    :)

    1.Go Open up device manager
    2. Go under sound, video, and game controllers
    3. Find Realtek High Definition Audio
    4. Right click and hit update driver
    5. Browse my computer for driver software
    6. Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
    7. Click Have Disk and hit browse
    8. Click on the Realtek HD Audio mod folder and look for win64
    9. Click on the HDXRT4 and click ok,
    10. Click Next and Yes
additional if you want dts audio and others, install it now before next step.
After it is done, restart the PC

You should be good then and also make sure before doing these steps that you have driver enforcement disabled.

Any way to forcibly change a driver for a device in Windows 10?

Change the way new devices are added to the Devices and Drives list

Hopefully this is in the correct place, but I am sure a mod will move it if it is not so with that being said:

By default, anytime a new devices is added to the system (a phone connected via USB for example) the icon for that device is placed in the first position in the Devices and Drives list under This PC.

This behavior is really annoying because it pushes all the other icons that were already in the list to the next position in the list which totally messes with my muscle memory when navigating within the folder.

A simple fix for this issue is to make it so that any device added to the system is added to the END of the list as is shown in the attached image and the way it was done in previous versions of Windows. This way, all icons stay in their default position in the list and all is well in the universe.

The question of course is how to achieve the desired result either by some registry hack or by changing some hidden menu setting from explorer or some other method entirely.

This is where you fine folks come in with your infinite wisdom to save the day and I thank you for your time and replies in advance.
