Windows 10: Any way to recover my documents?

I did something stupid and now I hope there's a chance to undo it.

I had 5 Microsoft Word documents on my computer called "Tasks" "Tasks 1" etc. that were running to-do lists of things for my job.



I recently copied and pasted all the remaining task/to-do list items into one single document while deleting (and saving and closing) the original five lists.



That one document I copied everything into, stupidly, was an "AutoRecovered" one that had been sitting open on my desktop for a month (I did not realize).

My computer battery died and computer shut down and when I rebooted, that AutoRecovered document was back to its state from a month ago ... which means everything I had copied and pasted into it was gone. Plus, the task lists I had used to populate that document were all now cleared-out.



In Microsoft Word, I tried going to Open > Recover Unsaved Documents but nothing was there. In File Explorer, I right clicked on the five Tasks documents, clicked Properties and then clicked Previous Versions and there were none.



I am beside myself. I had just consolidated a year's worth of tasks into a single document and then lost it.



I really just want to get the original versions of those five tasks lists back, so I can do the process over.

It seems obvious the AutoRecovered document I pasted them all into, since it reverted back to the contents from when it was first recovered a month ago, won't be useful in this process.

But is it possible earlier saved versions of my five tasks lists still exist somewhere on my computer? Are the "~$" versions of the files useful at all?

We would suggest you follow the steps mentioned below and check if it helps.

1. Open word application and click the File tab.
   
2. Click on Info > Manage Document >
   Recover Unsaved Documents.
   
3. A list of unsaved files are shown.
   
4. Look for the file try opening and saving it.

Recovering Deleted Documents From Computer?

I had some documents on my windows 10 computer where i deleted into the recycle bin and deleted it from my computer. These documents got deleted few months ago i believe. Is there any way to retrieve these documents?
Im not 100 percent sure what these documents are called but i think i have a clue.


Is there a way to recover old documents thats been deleted and if so, how can i do this? I had one or two important documents that i can no longer find on my computer... and that is either due to me deleting it or overriding it with other information and saved it which i doubt. But when you override a document, its impossible to check the previous copies right? However, i believe i deleted the documents in recycle bit and ultimately deleted them. Does anyone have any steps on how i can possibly recover something like this? The thing is im not 100 percent sure of the document name but if i saw name of documents, i can probably take a guess if that is the one.

 

Recovering corrupt word documents

Thank you so much..I have tried the program..and it says it saves the recovered text.and when i go to the output file the document is empty.. =(
