  1. Any way to require BOTH a fingerprint AND a password?

Is there any way in Windows 10 to require BOTH a fingerprint AND a password to unlock? We're currently using a Dell utility (with Windows 7 machines) to require this two-factor login but we're upgrading them to Windows 10 and I'd prefer to do it natively if possible. Thanks!

  4. Any way to require BOTH a fingerprint AND a password?

Is there a way to set Windows 10 Pro login to fingerprint by default instead of having to choose between fingerprint, PIN or password each time I log in?

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand your concern, and we in Community will try to help you in the best possible way we can.

I suggest you to try the steps and check if that clears your doubt:

Method 1: Enable the biometric sign in option

    • Press Windows logo key + I key.
    • Click on Accounts.
    • Go to Sign in options tab.
    • The fingerprint option will always be visible if there is a WBF-supported fingerprint reader (and its associated driver) installed on the computer.

If you are unable to find the biometric sign in option, I suggest you to follow the instruction provided in method 2 and then perform method 1 on your computer and check.

    Method 2: Biometric option.

I suggest you to enable the Biometrics to pick up the Biometrics setting. This option shall be enable by default.
However, I recommend you to follow the steps provided below and check if it enable or not.

    • Press Windows logo key + R key.
    • Type gpedit.msc and press
      Enter
      key.
    • Under Computer Configuration, navigate to.
    Administrative Templates -->Windows Components-->Biometrics

In the left hand panel of the Windows, double click on the following:

    • Allow the use of biometrics
    • Allow users to log on using biometric.
    • Select enable option and click on Apply and
      OK button.
Now, restart your computer and follow the instructions provided in method 1.

Hope the information helps. Please keep us posted on Windows related queries and we will be happy to assist you further.
