  1. Any way to solve Inconsistent cpu

I have a inconsistent cpu performance, yesterday while stressing my cpu using cinebench R23 and while gaming it consumes 50 to 60 watts, now while gaming and stressing it only reaches 13 watts and low performance. I have tried msconfig method it doesn't resolve my problem. Anyone please help with this. This happens again and again.

    :)

  2. Experiencing 100% CPU Load at Inconsistent Intervals

    Hello,Nicholas_LaBry

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Experiencing 100% CPU load at inconsistent intervals can be frustrating, but there are steps you can take to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue. Since you've already ruled out the system crash issue, let's focus on troubleshooting the high CPU usage problem:

    1. Monitor Running Processes: Keep an eye on the Task Manager to see which processes are utilizing the most CPU. Make a note of any specific processes that spike during the high CPU usage periods. The cimwin32.dll file is related to the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service, which is used by some applications to access system information.
    2. Disable Unnecessary Startup Programs: Some programs launch at startup and can contribute to CPU usage. Disable any unnecessary startup programs to see if that makes a difference.
    3. Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows operating system is fully updated. Sometimes, updates include fixes for performance-related issues.
    4. Investigate Background Processes: Some background processes can cause intermittent CPU spikes. Check for any background applications or services that might be the culprit.
Check for WMI Related Issues: Since you've identified a potential issue with cimwin32.dll, try the following steps:

    • Run the WMI Diagnostic Tool (winmgmt /salvagerepository) to attempt to repair the WMI repository.
      win32/desktop-src/WmiSdk/wmi-troubleshooting.md at docs · MicrosoftDocs/win32 · GitHub
    • Rebuild the WMI Repository:
      1. Open a Command Prompt with administrative privileges.
      2. Stop the WMI service: net stop winmgmt
      3. Rename the repository folder: rename %windir%\System32\wbem\Repository Repository.old
      4. Start the WMI service: net start winmgmt
    • Monitor the system to see if the CPU spikes persist after rebuilding the WMI repository.

Perform a clean boot on the PC, this mode can help you run with a basic set of Windows software and services, observe how the CPU usage in this mode behaves, if the clean boot works correctly. It may be the interference of third-party software, to do this, see the steps from the following article:

How to perform a clean boot in Windows - Microsoft Support

Disclaimer: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background service is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.

These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by step so that it will help you get back on track.

Feel free to let me know if you got any further updates, thanks.

    Best regards,

Any way to solve Inconsistent cpu

    Solved

Solved! or fixed! or whatever! I was able to absorb the extra space in a 3-step process:
    1. resize the System Reserved partition to use the space after it
    2. reboot
    3. stretch the M: data partition to absorb the space after it using the EXTEND -- not RESIZE -- command
System rebooted and working normally. THX all.
