Windows 10: Any way to use Enterprise style search on Home/Pro?

So I've been using Windows 10 Enterprise at work for about a year and a half now and over all I'm happy with it. Just last night I upgraded my home PC from 7 to 10 Pro (I'm not at home to confirm, but fairly certain I have the Pro edition)

One of the first things I noticed is the Search does not work the same and I HATE the Home/Pro version of search. An unnecessarily large search window that uses Bing to display web results... I used the regedit to disable that, but I'm still not happy with the search.

I just want a minimalist way to search local files and folders similar to how it was in W7

I know I'm just being nit picky, but I'm hoping there is a way to alter the search feature on home/pro to be the same as Enterprise. I searched the sub and google and have found nothing. I assume that's because it's not possible and I just have to suck it up, but if anyone knows a way I'd be very grateful!

TLDR: Is there any way to use the Enterprise style search on Home and/or Pro editions?

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

 

Downgrading Windows 10 enterprise to pro

The procedure is a bit arcane, but I have managed to convert an Enterprise Evaluation to Pro, doing it in two steps: EnterpriseEval to Enterprise (unactivated); then Enterprise (unactivated) to Pro. Details here.

Luckily, you can quickly downgrade from Windows 10 Enterprise to Windows 10 Pro by just changing the product key to the one for Pro.
