Windows 10: Anybody know how to bring back the Weather icon with the temp and rain?

On Windows 10 pro the little weather icon that used to be by the time and date is now replaced by a newspaper icon. There's a thread that ALMOST has the same problem but not quite what I'm looking for so the solutions don't work for me on thata one and it's locked.

News and weather widget on taskbar not showing weather, just a newspaper icon

After a recent Windows update, my News and interests icon got stuck showing rain (but no temperature), even though I had it set to "Show icon and text", and the rain was long gone. An additional reboot got it going again.

But I still had the original problem. Periodically, the icon switches from weather to financial reporting. Finally, I found an article which told me how to fix (or at least, modify) that: How to Configure Windows 10’s Weather & News Taskbar Widget (howtogeek.com). Although I hate the "Open on hover" feature, and normally have it turned off, it's necessary to temporarily turn it on, in order to perform the procedures described in the article.

 

Is there Any Way To Bring Back Weather on Windows 8.1?

has begun alerting users, through messages in MSN News and MSN

Weather, that the apps will be discontinued as of June 3, 2019

Welcome : As you can read thru. the above - copy+Paste - Web result

from a Google up result : The msn weather app. was discontinued

and don't think. Msoft can return an app : To a wins version

that will go out of support. As of Jan-10-2023

*Now. if you want a reply, from a Moderator. eventually, you may

get one : But volunteer Mods and other question repliers

don't work for Microsoft. so we don't know

about return or adding apps

aren't that useful, like before : People have these apps on their

cellular phones. view the temp on the Go - in any screen

outside or listen the weather report on radio or TV
