Discus and support Anybody know why my font and the window is white when I use dark mode?... in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; It works fine when in light mode and I was also able to create a high contrast theme that will work if there is no fix.     It works fine when in light mode and I was also able to create a high contrast theme that will work if there is no fix. It isn't anything pressing, but I would prefer to just use dark mode. Windows 10 Pro 21H2 19044.1741

    Unreadable font ... White on White Background and Text

    Good Evening!

    I just updated to Windows 10 Version 1903. Everything works great and no problems, except for this. I have had dark mode enabled for a while now and love it. However, after the update, the save file dialogue box that pops up when I need to save something
    and the "safely remove hardware and eject media" dialogue box in my system tray have now changed to a white font, which makes them almost unreadable. For some reason these two dialogue boxes have a white on white background and font. The regular windows
    explorer has a dark background with a white font which is perfect. Any suggestions how to fix this? I have scoured through every setting I can think of and am at a loss. I don't want to change my dark mode just for that.

    problem on a few menus - white text on white background

    I restarted, unfortunately it didn't help the Cortana issue. Dark mode didn't fix it either. I did get a new clue though. If I mark something on the list as completed, the text appears.

    So it seems to be a font issue - as the completed item uses the strikethru font, which displays normally. I feel like the regular list is somehow set to a white font.

    What's the fascination with dark mode?

    In Visual Studio 2019 the theme choices are:
    • Blue
    • Light
    • Dark
    • Blue (Extra Contrast)
    I tried the Dark theme in Visual Studio. Your right about focusing on the text. That's not the problem. When in Dark mode the text is blurry to me so if I don't focus on it I will probably get a headache. I much prefer the Blue theme where reading the text is less stressful.

    In Office 2019 the theme choices are:
    • Colorful (default)
    • Dark Gray
    • Black
    • White
    • Use system setting
    I find the default theme of Colorful best for me.
