Windows 10: Anybody Using TWO external SSD drives and travel with them?

I have 2 of the Sabrent SSD enclosures and I connect / disconnect them when I move my computer from one location to another. Most of the time they work fine but twice, the 2nd SSD became corrupt because the file system was incorrectly written. For example, let's say:

P: PDrive SSD 1 Contains a folder named "DOCS"

Q: GFXDrive SSD 2 Contains a folder named "IMAGES"

Twice now, SSD 2's file system became "DOCS" and "IMAGES" which is not correct and the whole thing is so screwed up that scandisk can't fix it so I had to format it. I was lucky to have all the files on SSD 2 on a server as a back up. The 2nd time the name of SSD 2 was also changed to the same name as SSD 1 although the letter stayed the same, so they showed up as

P: PDrive SSD 1 (contains a folder named "DOCS")

Q: PDrive SSD 2 (contains folders "DOCS" and "IMAGES")

Has anyone encountered this? This sounds more like a windows problem instead of the enclosure but I'm not sure.

This is on Windows 10 Pro Build 22000.978

Is there can a external ssd drive be used as the main OS drive?

Hi Robert,

We don't recommend using an external SSD as the main OS drive. You can use an external SSD as the main OS drive, but you need to configure the BIOS of your computer for it to boot the OS from the external SSD. We suggest contacting your computer manufacturer
for assistance on configuring the BIOS of your computer.

SSD external drive

My external ssd device connected to my hp laptop. Device Manager shows ssd in Disk Device but not on system directory....no external drive label
