I’m getting “The file cannot be opened because the path has a case-sensitive directory” errors on 5 of my 7 existing shares. I’ve tried washing the dirs (and all subdirs) using fsutil, but that hasn’t fixed me

SMB sharing not working after windows 10 update Build 2004 update

I too have the 2004 version SMB sharing issue. I too have it enabled. After a cold start, observed a failed share, performing a "RESTART" returns access to the shared NAS. Works great till next cold start. Wash, rinse, repeat.

    Hi,

    Thank you for replying.

I have been researching on this issue. I would suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned below and see if that helps.

    Enabling SMB:

    1. Press Windows Logo key + R, to open Run dialog box.
    2. Type appwiz.cpl and click on OK.
    3. Click on 'Turn Windows Features On or Off' (upper left side of pane).
    4. Please scroll down and under SMB 1.0 CIFS File Sharing Support, select the boxes next to SMB 1.0/CIFS Client and SMB 1.0/ CIFS Server. If the boxes are already selected, please clear the box and select
      it again.
    5. Restart the computer.

    Enabling NetBios:

    1. Press Windows Logo key + R, to open the Run dialog box.
    2. Type ncpa.cpl and click on OK.
    3. Right click on the network connection that you are using and select Properties.
    4. Double click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
    5. Under General tab, click on Advanced.
    6. Click on WINS tab.
    7. Select Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP.
    8. Click on OK on all the windows.

I would also suggest you to refer the suggestions provided by Roohi_Taj replied on January 8, 2019 in the thread Network
    Sharing in Windows 10
and check if that helps in resolving the issue.

    Let us know the results.

Problem connecting to SMB Share on Linux server with Windows 10

    Hello All,

Recently my Windows 10 laptop no longer sees the SMB shares on my Unraid 6 server, everything was working fine until a week or so ago. Other Windows 7 machines on the same network have no problem seeing or connecting to the same SMB shares. I did some searching
on the Web and it was suggested that you try to sign into the computer with a local account rather than a Microsoft account but that did not help. I also tried the registry edit suggested in this post:

    https://www.schkerke.com/wps/2015/06/windows-10-unable-to-connect-to-samba-shares/

This did not help either, I am currently running Windows 10 Home 64 bit on an Asus UX305LB laptop and my last update was KB3093266, I believe I was able to connect to the SMB shares for a while after the update. It's pretty important that I be able to connect
to the server as I use it to backup the computer, thanks in advance.
