Windows 10: Anyone getting an Application Virtualization Client service not running error when trying...

I'm getting this error message when I try to open some Microsoft Excel files:Fortunately, I don't have the problem with a worksheet file, and so my workaround is to first open it. While keeping it open, I then open the other Excel file I need. Every time a Windows update occurs, my Excel files get changed to Microsoft Office, and I have to reopen them using Excel. So it must be something similar, but I'm not sure what it is. Anyone who has had this problem and also has solved it, I would appreciate knowing your solution.

Recently my PC received an automatic Windows 10 upgrade.

Since then I cannot open existing Excel files via Microsoft Office Starter 2010

All I get is an error message Application Virtualization Client Service is not running

Error 46362C1-0FA10612-00006003

Why has this happened? Who is responsible? How can I get it sorted?

1. May I know, which version of Windows is installed on your computer?
   
2. Is your system connected to Domain network?
   

If you are not on a domain network you can try the troubleshooting steps provided below.



Method 1: Winsock reset.

1. Start your PC in safe mode.
   
2. Once you are on the same mode.
   
3. Search for Command Prompt on the Start Menu.
   
4. Right click and Run as Administrator.
   
5. Type in netsh winsock reset
   on the command prompt and hit enter.
   
6. Reboot the computer and check.

it to a safe location.
