    Anyone here playing GTA V on a GTX 970M?


    Hey everyone,

    I bought a new laptop last week (Clevo P650SE) with the GTX 970M and i'm trying to find the best graphics settings to use with GTA V. At the moment the edges of objects are looking a bit jaggy, but if i turn up the anti-aliasing slightly then the lag becomes noticeable. The optimal settings provided by NVIDIA Experience are alright but they don't include any anti-aliasing except from the basic FXAA. And so i'm just wondering which settings my fellow 970M owners are using with this game, hopefully we could start a discussion about what seems to work best for us?

    frequent windows event 4101(Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.)

    Been having the exact same problem lately. It was only with GTA V until the last week or so and now Destiny 2 is starting to do it as well. GTA V won't play for more than 5 minutes before it just freezes and kicks me out to desktop. I've done everything
    the internet has said and then some. I'm using GTX 1080 extreme gaming editions as well, seems a lot of people are having this issue with these cards.

    We understand that you really want to play GTA V. For you to play the game smoothly, we would suggest that you need to purchase a new laptop or PC that will meet the system requirements of GTA V.

    Anyone here playing GTA V on a GTX 970M?

    I'm not using that particular card, but I'd recommend turning off all the in-game AA, aside from FXAA, and enabling MFAA in Nvidia Control Panel for GTA V. MFAA is supposed to give better AA at less of a performance hit than MSAA.

    Apologies for the delayed response! Your suggestion certainly seems to have improved things a bit, to the point where the jagged edges don't bother me so much now. Before i could see the rough edges on a car straight in front of me, but after applying MFAA these are no longer visible. Also, there doesn't appear to be much performance difference either, so that's excellent. *Smile
