    anyone know why this happened

    i asked about why my thumb drive that worked then stopped, and got a ton of answers that were not quite what i was asking. so i just marked it done, the this also happened at the same time. i did not notice it until after i asked that other question.

    when that t/d failed i then now see in the network part of the tree the very same folder i was trying to back up to the t/d. and when i delete one of the folders in that network section it deletes the folder in the c drive. anyone happen to have a clue why that happened?

    under the network tab i bob laptop and under that i have users, and saved pictures. and if i delete anything in one of those folders it deletes it in the c drive folder.

    i never ever had that before that t/d failed. it was not there even when i was doing the tests of that t/d

    anyone know why this happened

    this is the folders section and you see the lower left where is shows network and bobs laptop then below that users and saved pictures

    well up to yesterday that was not there. the network was and bobs laptop was but i did not have the rest there. if you think you need to see more let em know.

    it is not a big deal but i would like to know why that happened. later today or tomorrow i'm just going to delete them and be done with it.

    as for backups i will never leave a t/d in the port over night again. as i's sure the pc got an updated and had to do some restarts. and that was the issue. but the backups getting into the network is a new issue. thanks.
