Windows 10: Anyone know of a decent 'dark' theme for Windows 10...?

The white is basically doing my eyes in, unlike any other version of Windows. I've had a look about online, but not seen any compatible for Windows 10 as such. But are there any dark themes like the high contrast ones about anywhere? Using the black high contrast helps somewhat. But it looks pretty shit in IE. Incompetent really how Microsoft don't even have more options for themes. Even looking on their site, there aren't any plain grey/black basic ones.

Win10 Explorer D theme non- High Contrast

Windows 10 dark theme doesn't work for explorer, i found a dark theme that did but it was a high contrast type. im looking for a normal dark theme that doesnt change taskbar, menu looks like the high contrast themes. Does anyone know if such theme exists
without having to do registry changes, theme patchers or resource hackers? I just want to go to personalisation/themes and click on one and it changes.

one other thing, under personalise, the colors are fixed. i cant create custom colors like windows 7 and before. windows ten only gives me a choice from ugly colors. was that ever fixed? i have version 1607 (OS BUILD 14393.187) THANK YOU, MC16

 

Possible UI bug with themes and calculator... Please confirm!

I think I found a bug with the dark/light themes, and the calculator. I reproduced it several times. I always started with dark theme, so if anyone here would like to test it with the light theme, please do. Here is the procedure:

1. Starting with the dark theme, open the calculator app. The buttons should be a dark grey, with white text.

2. Press the Windows key, and goto your settings. Click theme, and change the background from dark to light.

3. Press the Windows key.

4. Open the calculator app. The buttons should now be a light grey that matches the overall theme, with black text.

5. Press the Windows key, and goto your settings. Click theme, and change the background from light to dark.

6. Press the Windows key.

7. Open the calculator app. The buttons (at least for me) are still the light grey of the light theme, however, they now have the white text of the dark theme.

The only way that I have been able to fix the problem, is to restart my phone. I have also been able to confirm this in the unlocked Windows phone 7 emulator. Please confirm!

Cheers for that mate! Not a bad theme. Where did you get it from? Only thing being though is it doesn't work great with IE as certain pics on websites don't show etc.

I changed the title bar with this (complicated) tutorial. But it's just the title bar, and with limited colors to choose. It's so absurd this step back in design. Plain white compulsory... worse than Windows 95.

You pick a High Contrast Theme and customize the colors yourself:









If you use Firefox, you can control whether High Contrast is applied to web pages or not in Options/Colors.

 

How do you get the colour settings up? I've loaded up control panel and personalisation, and have the themes, but not that bit.
