Windows 10: Anyone lost their integrated webcam following recent Windows 10 update?

My integrated webcam was working fine as it has done for several years. Suddenly it has disappeared and will not work at all. The error says the camera doesn't exist. I have checked Device Manager and it is not there anymore. I have downloaded the latest drivers for it but there is still nothing in the Device Manager, despite opting to show hidden files.


Anyone else with the same problem?

I suggest you to update the driver for webcam from the manufacturer website or by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager.
• Expand the driver for webcam.
• Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
• Follow the on-screen prompts to update the driver.

My integrated webcam is not connected and requires further installation

To resolve your issue regarding your webcam, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Press Windows logo key + S.
• Type Troubleshooting and select it from the list.
• Select Hardware and Sound.
• Click on Hardware and Device, and start the troubleshooter.

For the issue related to webcam I suggest you to perform the below steps.



Method 2:

You may also update the Camera driver from Device Manager manually and check if this helps.

• Press (Windows key + X) and click on “Device Manager”.
• Expand “Other devices”.
• Right click on the “Integrated webcam” drivers and select “Update Driver Software”. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
