    You're welcome. I am downloading the 14946 build now. FYI: The Winreducer program was just a means to an end. My main surprise was that the WIM file appears to work with DISM, while the ESD file did not.

    Good luck! I'll still follow this thread.

    Using Project Centennial to convert .exe into .appx

    Hello

    I'm trying to convert the test.exe file into test.appx using Project Centennial. I type in Powershell as admin
    : PS C:\> .\DesktopAppConverter.ps1 -Setup -BaseImage .\BaseImage-14393.wim

    I'm having this error 'DesktopAppConverter : error 'E_INVALID_BASEIMG': '.\BaseImage-14393.wim' is not a valid base image. Please supply a
    valid .wim file' since in the first steps during expanding the BaseImage-14393.wim, my windows 10 version is 1607 (OS Build 14393.82). Can anyone help me with this? or with any other method how i can convert .exe apps into appx ?

    Haven't had a chance to try it out.. seems like a good tool.

    Yes, I had a look at the source code - it's process driven - basically a wrapper for the various DISM commands.

    I have tried the tool it keeps crashing for the 64 bit. Don't know about the 32 bit yet.

    I wouldn't bother with it - technically it's inefficiently coded (.Net with redundant C++ calls, exceptionally high resource usage etc) - also it uses the old method of mounting the image before servicing - whereas the latest DISM can service compressed files...
    - none of these occur with the ESD decrypter script in Kari's tut.

    (P.S. Not sure why the VIP activation - the code is not obfuscated...)
