Windows 10: anyone who know what to do? my desktop frequently change hard disk then my drive d will...

good day, can someone please help me, my desktop keep prompting hardware change pertaining to hard disk then suddenly by drive d will disappear

Cannot access D drive since upgrading to Windows 10.

  Is the D: drive located on the same hard disk or on different hard disk?
  
• 
  Did you have any important data saved on the
  D: drive?
  

If the D: is saved on another hard disk and you are unable to access it, I suggest you to format the drive completely and check if the issue is resolved.



To format the hard disk, follow the steps below:

• 
  Press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select
  Disk management option.
  
• 
  Right click on the D: drive and select
  Format option.
  
• 
  Wait for the formatting to complete and check if the changes are effective.

Why I can't change my hard disk drive letter from I: to D: ?

I did: Search Windows > Create and format hard disk partitions > Selected clicked on drive I: > Right mouse click > Change drive letter and Paths... > Change > Assign the following drive letter:

In the list of letters I have B G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z

My internal dvd burner was assigned to D: but I changed it's letter to F:
Now I tried to change the hard disk I: to D: but i'm getting error: The parameter is incorrect

What I want to do is that I: will be D:
But i'm getting this error.

 

Why I can't change my hard disk drive letter from I: to D: ?

Did you restart after you changed the DVD to F: ? Because it is hardware, and assigned as "D" internally, you may need to reboot so Windows can rearrange the NTFS. Can't hurt to try.
