Windows 10: AOC 1601FWUC usb-c display will not work with new MSI Sword PC...

Hi all, I have a new MSI Sword 15 pc and I had an AOC 1601FWUC usb-c monitor lying around that I want to connect. I have the proper usb-c cable, and the sword looks like it supports data transfer through its usb-c ports. but my monitor is saying no signal! When I use the same cord and plug it into a Mac laptop computer it works.... why is this??

Installed DisplayLink_7.9_M4 under Windows 10 on a brand new 16GB Surface laptop.

The AOC display comes alive, and is actually active for about 30 seconds, then communication appears to stop and the AOC display "freezes". Or sometimes I can move the mouse to the AOC screen, move it around for a minute, then as soon as I drag a window
to the screen, the screen locks and the app disappears. So I get a tantalizing taste of what a working system might be like.

I followed the instructions above, including the last resort cleaner, carefully rebooting after each step.

This display works fine on my older HP laptop with Vista x64 installed. This suggests there is no hardware problem with the AOC display and it is a Windows 10 problem. The AOC web site says they're trying to get Microsoft's attention (to no avail) to fix
this problem. This is making me regret spending $3000 on a Surface instead of buying the equivalent Apple Laptop.

Just updating this stream and what worked for me. I got new laptop Win 10 64 Bit. Original AOC 1649FWU driver purchased with monitor would not load. I went to Display Link site, clicked on "Download Drivers" now on top left of screen. Click "I accept" and
got to Windows Driver Downloads for Downloads Section | Synaptics Clicked on the generic

DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Windows

• Windows 10

Downloaded driver. Installed it. Plugged in AOC monitor. Everything worked fine. The point here is don't use the specific E1649FWU driver found on the AOC website. Use this generic driver specific for Win 10. Also, if you have the original driver already
installed on you machine, make sure to run add/remove programs and remove all programs associated with your display link monitor first. I had an old machine that had Win 7 on it. The AOC driver worked fine when I upgraded to Win 10. SO I knew the AOC could
run on Win 10 64bit, that's when I went hunting and found this page. Make sure, also, that your monitor is not plugged in until AFTER you download and install the driver. Only plug it in after you have completed all steps. Cheers,

 

USB-C problems windows 10

I am trying to connect a New portable Monitor to my laptop. I keep getting a generic error message when I power on the AOC monitor.

Message "Try improving the USB Connection. Display port might not work try using a different cable"

the monitor will flash the AOC logo when I power on, then displays No Signal and goes blank.

the monitor has not other connection option only the USB-C.

does this mean my USB-C port is not compatible with the USB-C Monitor?
