aol acoount not syncing in microsoft windows 11 Mail says needs correct password. its correct got 993 and 465 imaps, Verizon server. what do i need to do?

Windows Live Mail with (Verizon) AOL help!!

I received this email from AOL back in November.

AOL Mail not syncing since upgrade

My AOL mail will not SYNC with "New Notifications" in Action Center since the automatic 1809 update on December 15, 2018. I've tried everything to solve problem and still will not download. I did noticed when in Manage My Acct there are 16 bubbles in password
that I know is not correct. I changed my password in AOL mail back in December and I know the password is a lot longer than what windows is showing.

 

Windows 10 mail has stopped working with AOL

I have been using Windows 10 mail with my aol account for a long time. Today out of the blue I am getting a "We couldn't access this account:Aol. You might need to update the password or give permission to sync to this device." I have not changed my PW, but I re-entered it in the "attention required" field - nothing. I then changed the PW with aol online, confirmed the PW was correct and tried entering this PW into Windows mail - still get the same error message. I next deleted aol mail from Windows 10 mail and tried to add it again - still won't connect. Not sure what to try next?
