Windows 10: AOL mail not working well with windows mail

I have used AOL within windows mail for many years. When I upgraded to windows 11 I started getting three problems. 1. Some emails arrive garbled - in computer language?2. Others have pix which can't be displayed.3. Emails won't always send and I frequently have to reboot to get them to send.All very irritating and a total waste of my time. I've tried reinstalling AOL to my windows mail and the problem does not go away.

I’ve seen that error on accounts which have two-factor/step authentication where the user requires an app specific password which is entered in place of the account password.

Does the AOL account use this security feature?

If not then check the usual ‘suspects’: username & password, whether the account uses SSL & whether the port numbers are set correctly.

The IMAP settings for AOL mail are as follows:

AOL Mail IMAP server address: imap.aol.com

I need a slick E-mail program!

My parents are absolutely stonewall about keeping AOL. The best reason they can give me for keeping it is the easy to use E-mail interface. I ain't arguing, I haven't found anything easier to use, but it TAKES SO MUCH MEMORY! And so I'm thinking that if I can find something nice and easy to use, I might be able to get my parents to use it instead of AOL, and finally get the bloatware known as AOL off my computer! The requirements-

• Must be easy to use
• Can't be browser-based (so AIM mail, Yahoo, and MSN are no-no's)
• Preferably compatible with AOL mail, my parents don't want to switch E-mail accounts
• Can't be Mozilla Thunderbird...I tried it and it sucks in terms of multiple E-mail accounts, and it erased all my saved mail *Frown .

Any ideas?
