Windows 10: AOL Software and S Mode

I am setting up a new computer and downloaded AOL, when I tried to run the set up, I get a message that I can only run apps I download from the Microsoft store but AOL is not available there. If I want to install AOL I have to switch out of S Mode. I'm not sure I want to do that since it is irreversible but AOL is the software I use. Does anyone have any ideas or insight as to why Micrsoft excludes AOL? Judging by what I am seeing at the store it looks as if Micrsoft is freezing out a lot of the apps I use.

Step 1: I suggest you to install the software/ program in compatibility mode on Windows 10 and check if it helps.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Download the updated software from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right click the software installation file and select
  Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
  
• Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
  OK.
• Try installing the AOL software and check.

Step 2: I recommend you to run the program as administrator and check if the issue persists.

Right click on the software, and click on Run as administrator.

  ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check.

AOL Gold Problem - Delayed Sign On

The steps that you've made I'm not able to follow.
There is no registration required to run V2.
The problem that you reported is with using AOL software.
How come you've switched to browsers?
AOL software should not take you out of clean boot.
Maybe there are others that can follow your steps.
Images were requested but none were posted to see what you did or did not do.

Consider the clean install that you posted from AOL.
Then install the AOL software.
You can then compare current to clean install.
If clean install is no better you can the restore the Macrium image.
