Windows 10: Apostrophe will not work, even after pressing control and shift

Why can I not get my apostrophe to work and instead get è. Usually I can press Control and Shift and fix this. I saw somewhere to run the following: Press the Windows key + R, then type osk.exe and press Enter. The keyboard I see on the screen is what is getting typed, not what shows on my physical keyboard. How do I change thisÉ

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Keyboard drivers and check if it works:

Follow the steps to uninstall the keyboard drivers:

• Press Windows Key + X key.
• Click on Device Manager.
• Right-click on the Keyboard drivers listed and click on ‘Uninstall’.
• Select the option to Delete driver software.
• Restart the computer after its uninstalled.

Those two items when considered together would point to a defective keyboard. However, your initial tests speak against this.

Here is what I would do next:

• Create a new account and check if the issue persists under that account.
• Press Shift+Restart to boot the machine into Repair Mode. Open a Command Prompt and check if the problem persists.
