Windows 10: App and Game limits not working for Google Chrome Browser

Hi there!


I'm trying to set this up for a family member and I've limited her use of Google Chrome since I can't limit her wifi use. So I set it so that she can only use it from 3pm till 10pm.

However, when I tested this after reboot, etc. etc., I can STILL start Google Chrome. The message from Family limit settings comes up, but I can just ignore that and still use Google Chrome.


I also tried Candy Crush, but that one doesn't even start, it only shows the Family limit message. So that works.. but not Google Chrome.


How can I block it completely outside the allowed hours?

Thank you for your response with the current update on the issue.

As suggested in the previous post, I recommend you to first uninstall the google chrome browser from the computer.

After that try to download the google chrome browser software from the google website. Then try to reinstall google chrome browser software in compatible mode where you will install the software in previous version of Windows.

I suggest you to follow the steps provided in the previous post to reinstall the google chrome browser.

problem uninstalling google chrome

Hi,

Since you already uninstalled Google Chrome using the Programs and Features, Google notifications may still be running in the background processes. We suggest that you follow these steps on how to end the Google Chrome process:

• On your keyboard, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
• Select Task Manager.
• Under Processes, locate Google Notifications or Google Chrome.
• Right click on them and select End Task.
• Double check under Programs and Features if Google Chrome is completely gone.

I suggest you to uninstall the application and download the setup files or install directly from Internet explorer by following the steps below:

• Open Internet explorer and type ‘www.google.com’ in the address bar.
• To will get a notification on the right side of the browser to download and install Google Chrome.
• Click on the notification and follow the prompts to download and install the Google Chrome application.
