  1. App RUNASADMIN in registry

For Windows 10 and below, there were two registry keys when an app was set to run as an administrator. These were:For the user logged in: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\LayersFor all users:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\LayersHowever, this is no longer the case in Windows 11.Is there a different registry key that would expose when an app is run elevated or is there any way to know, on the backend, when an app is set to run elevated?

    :)

  3. Registry editing

    Hello,

This issue may have occurred after one of the following situations:

    • You upgrade the Windows operating system.
    • You install or uninstall CD or DVD recording programs.
    • You uninstall Microsoft Digital Image.

Given that, we suggest performing the methods in this article:
Your CD or DVD drive is not recognized by Windows or other programs
    .
The resolutions that are listed in that article may help solve some instances but not all instances of this problem.

Important:This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow
these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base
    article.

Feel free to update us with the results.

    App RUNASADMIN in registry

Mail app will not open on 10041.

    Hello Adam,

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. App RUNASADMIN in registry :)

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
