Windows 10: Appearance of a disconnected menu window related to Word 2003 result of recent update.

A small box with options for "Full Screen" or "Close Full Screen" has appeared since the last update on the bottom right corner of my screen. It is only active when Word is open. This is a "bug". It is related to Microsoft Word since using the Word menu controls these options.


The previously referred to "small box" is a software error from the recent Microsoft Update. The only time the "small box" is active is when using the screen size function within Word 2003. This small box has NO useful function but I can't get rid of it. The only way I've found to get rid of it is to Restart Windows.

The software, in general, is still useful, even though old. Paying for current software is not an option. I view this as a serious problem because what has been broken in the update did not exist previously and I wonder what else might take place later that will make Word 2003 totally useless.

Word 2003 and Word 2016 installed on same PC

I have Word 2003 and 2016 both installed on a Windows 10 PC. I used to be able to right click on either one in the task bar and get the appropriate popup context menu. Now when I right click on Word 2003 in the task bar, I get the Word 2016 popup menu.
Then if I click on a recent file that was created in Word 2003 it opens the file in Word 2016. I don't know why the right click menu changed. Can I set it so that Word 2003 right click menu will only show documents created in that version?

 

Word 2003 and emoji

I still use Word 2003 to full satisfaction in my W10 Pro desktop PC.
Wondering whether such a thing as an emoji font exists, I found that it exists as the font Segoe UI Emoji. Indeed, in the font listing in Word this font is present. However, when I try to use this font, only simple black squares appear.
Is it a real font? Is my version of Word too old?
Or do I miss something?
