Windows 10: Application Hang/Window Explorer Not Responding

Hi,


Have been experiencing application hang/window explorer not responding/BDoS recently.

These are the errors from event viewer.


1) Multiple COMRuntime error

An unmarshaling policy check was performed when unmarshaling a custom marshaled object and the class {41FD88F7-F295-4D39-91AC-A85F3149A05B} was rejected

And several other errors.


The following troubleshooting was done to no avail:

1) Update windows/drivers

2) sfc /scannow

3) chdsk

4) mdsched.exe

5) DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth, /ScanHealth, /RestoreHealth.

6) Anti-Virus scan


My computer is about 9 years old and it could be hardware issue (harddrive/RAM). Would like to find out what is the root cause and replace the hardware instead of purchasing a whole new system

Windows Explorer Replacement?

are you running IE7? if not that wouold be my first suggestion,upgrade to ie7 that can fix some stability issues with windows explorer
