Windows 10: Application is unable to create temp files in user AppData folder

We are using application along with the MS Visio 2016 32 Bit. When application is working it copies project files to local user App Data folder C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local. It was working correctly and after the recent Windows security updates, it is observed that copying is restricted, and application became unusable. Restarting the application solves the issue temporarily. In some cases, we found uninstalling the windows update solved the issue. Due to security measure this is not possible in the long run. Are there any known issues with 32-bit applications in windows 10?

How to find the application that is creating AppData\Local\Temp folders

I am working on an issue where the user profile folder 'AppData\Local\Temp' is creating the same set of folders over and over again.

Currently, all of these folder seem to have a distinct different name.

Even after deleting all the files, they seem to return.

All the folders claim 9.7 MB of space.

Is anyone aware of how I can find the application that is generating these files, or what application they are tied to?

Clearing the AppData folder and the temp files.

The AppData folder itself should not be touched, as the data in that folder is required by your installed applications.

However, the Temp folder inside AppData can and should be cleared regularly.

Sometimes, when clearing these files you will get an error on one or two files, that is OK, since they are currently in use by an open process . . .

Windows Temporary files are created by the operating system during the normal course of its running when there may not be enough memory allocated for the task.

Software which use large amounts of data like Graphics, Video or Media editing software also create temporary files.

Temporary files are also created for back up purposes by its respective programs. These temp files are left behind even after the task is over which leads to disk space usage.

The Temporary Files in Windows are typically found located in two locations:

• %systemdrive%\Windows\Temp
• %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Temp

The Temporary files created by the Windows operating system are usually stored in the %system%\Windows\Temp folderand this is where the system itself will put temporary files during installations.

The temporary files created by the User when running any software is stored in his user profile at %userprofiles%\AppData\Local\. The other folder typically located at C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp, is created for each User. This folder
is hidden and you will have to first ‘un-hide’ System folders from the Folder Options.
