Windows 10: application turns black when my computer sees a picture, video, or gif in it.

When I am on a application, and a photo or video comes into view on my monitor, the monitor stays on, but the application only flashes black for about 6 seconds and comes back on like if the app has restarted, like a website trying to explain how to fix problems, it turns black when I see a photo, or&nbs

• May you please provide to us the complete error message.
• Any changes made to your computer prior to this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

 

Pictures and Videos are showing in Black and White

1. Are you aware of any changes made to the display settings recently?
   
2. What is the make and model of your computer?
   
3. Which application/browser do you use to access your e-mails?
   

I understand how difficult it would be to work on the computer that has this effect. This issue is an indication of change in the display settings or the issue is with the display drivers. I would suggest you to follow the steps
mentioned below:

Method 1: Turn Contrast Off.

1. Press Windows and
   I key together.
   
2. Click on Ease of Access> Click on
   High Contrast in the left pane.
   
3. Turn off the slider for High Contrast.
   

Method 2: Make sure that Windows theme
is selected from Default Windows Themes.

1. Press Windows and
   I key together.
   
2. Click on Personalization
   > Click on Themes in the left pane.
   
3. Select the default Theme and close the page.
   

If both the steps doesn’t work, I would suggest you to update the display drivers. I suggest you to refer the article on
Update Windows 10.
