    applicationHost.config in inetsrv\Config seems empty


    Hi,

    When I try to read C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\Config\applicationHost.config with Notepad, all I get is what screen with no info.

    I have full control of that file as Administartor etc. The file size says 25kb but when I try to read it, it shows nothing.


    In the same directory, other *.config files I can read with out any trouble. The date stamp for the files are 6/7/2018 when my computer was updated to Windows 1803. After that 1809 and 1903, but none of them got updated.


    Why the file shows nothing? Any help is appreciated.

    Check Config


    Are you using the traditional Search box or the Address bar search?

    There are options in the FF config file (about:config) that allow you to set a search engine for the Address bar.
    Try:

    1. Type about:config in the Address bar
    2. Acknowledge the warning message
    3. Type search in the about:config Search box
    4. Look at the results and check for any that mention Ask
    If you see an Ask entry, take a screenshot and post it so that someone can advise you further.

    Here is a screenshot from my Pale Moon about:config page (the FF one should be fairly similar):

    New! BF3 Config Utility v1.3

    Change Log v1.3
    • New 5.1 setting!
    • Added call outs to settings.
    • Changed both Profile config and Config File display text to richtext format. Now you can see the settings easier. I plain to turn the Config File Text display into a Real Text Editor, and not just a crappy notepad viewer. This new display will send the return carriage, and not show it.
