Windows 10: Applications are unstable after the 1/11/24 update

After I updated the windows 11, I am having difficulty to use my pc laptop. Applications are frequently freezing or crashing. Even if I only use 1 chrome and 2 tabs, it will crash. My laptop is only 6mos. old and has 8GB RAM.I already disable all of the startup program but it still happen. I already use diagnostic tool provided by the manufacturer, and it doesn't find any issue with the hardware.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Repeated Crashes and Boot Errors Apparently Caused by Driver Updates

The chkdsk /f /r report displayed that there were corrections made in the volume bitmap.

Run these commands and post images and then continue with the prior steps:
There was a command for disk 1 but the command for disk 0 seems to have been skipped (steps 24 and 25) for the partition information. These are some additional commands.

1) diskpart
2) list disk
3) select disk 0
4) list volume
5) list partition
6) select partition 1
7) detail partition
8) select partition 2
9) detail partition
10) select partition 3
11) detail partition
12) select partition 4
13) detail partition
14) if there are any other partitions on disk 0 continue in the same fashion
15) exit
16) continue with prior steps

 

Explorer.exe, Werfault.exe, RuntimeBroker.exe (application errors). start wont come up and application errors wont go
