Windows 10: Applications freeze for ~30 sec shortly after startup

Hello,Ive been having an issue with windows 11 now where every time my computer turns on from sleep or hibernate Basically whenever I have to sign in again, I can use my open applications which is mainly chrome for maybe 1-2 minutes, and then they freeze for about 30 seconds. The applications seem to be the only thing that freeze, as I am still able to minimize them and view the desktop/ move the cursor around. Although when I hover over the minimize minus it doesn't have any animation. It happens on a regular basis. Ive tried updating all my applications, windows has done multiple update

How to reduce the startup delay (default is 30 secs)


I have been told that Windows sets an overall delay of 30 secs (default) before the startup routine even begins. (I am not talking here of the way to disable or delay the startup of individual startup items.) This overall delay is mainly designed (I am told) to allow users time to press the F key which brings up the boot order window and therefore allowing the user to change the boot order. Forgetting the boot order point, by setting this from 30 secs. to a lower value, the machine starts the startup process almost immediately (depending on the new setting) instead of waiting for 30 secs., therefore speeding up the startup.

>> If it involves one of the sub-panels of Control Panel, please give me the name of that sub-panel (my machine is suffering from the post-Anniversary bug which prevents reaching such a sub-panel via the Search Bar).

Windows 10 freezes shortly after logging in

Thank you for the help. I went through all the suggestions you offered. None of the scans returned any errors. I also went through the steps on the page you linked to.

In addition, I also ran "mdsched.exe" and a disk check, which also returned no errors.

Unfortunately, the problem has not gone away. My computer freezes shortly after logging in.

Do you have any other suggestions for diagnostics I might be able to use?

 

Can't get GPU-Z to start with Windows 8.1 startup

I'm not sure how to do that. Could you list the steps for a noob?
