Windows 10: Applications glitching visually

Recently I have noticed that a lot of applications have been glitching, ranging from calculator to the files application. It includes as well every office application and every application by windows and I don't know how to fix it. Help! My friends pc (newly rebuilt) is having problems with a visual and a microphone glitch. The only way to describe the visual glitch is a weird screen tear on applications (video included), the glitch doesn’t happen on in game but only in certain applications (steam, discord, etc.) and usually when you scroll on something. Since you're on a Windows Insider Beta version (22635.3646 ni_release), the issue might be related to that specific build. Insider builds can sometimes introduce issues as they include features and changes that are still being tested. Here are a few additional steps you might consider:

1. Check for Insider Updates

• Even though you've installed the latest updates, check again for any new Windows Insider updates. Sometimes, issues are quickly identified and addressed in subsequent builds.
  
  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates.
    

2. Feedback Hub

• Use the Feedback Hub app to report the issue. Microsoft often monitors feedback for bugs, especially in Insider builds. Microsoft attaches great importance to user experience, you can submit your ideas and suggestions through the Send feedback to Microsoft with the Feedback Hub app - Microsoft Support, and the development team will regularly review submissions for ideas or fixes.

3. Graphic Settings and Drivers

• Since you've updated your Nvidia drivers, consider tweaking Nvidia Control Panel settings or even rolling back to a previous driver version to see if that resolves the issue.
  
  • Right-click on the desktop and select Nvidia Control Panel.
    
  • Experiment with the Adjust image settings with preview option. Sometimes, letting the 3D application decide can resolve visual glitches.
    
  • To roll back a driver, go to Device Manager > Display adapters > right-click your Nvidia graphics card > Properties > Driver tab > Roll Back Driver (if available).
    

4. Disable Hardware Acceleration

• Some applications, including File Explorer, can experience visual glitches due to hardware acceleration.
  
  • This setting might not be directly available for File Explorer, but disabling hardware acceleration in applications you have running in the background (like web browsers) might indirectly resolve the issue.
    

5. New User Profile

• Sometimes, the issue might be related to your user profile. Creating a new user profile can help determine if the glitch is specific to your current profile.
  
  • Go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users > Add someone else to this PC and follow the prompts to create a new account.
    
  • Log in with the new account and check if the issue persists.
    

6. Safe Mode

• Booting into Safe Mode can help you determine if the issue is caused by third-party software or drivers.
  
  • Press Win + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
    
  • In the System Configuration window, go to the Boot tab, check Safe boot under Boot options, select Minimal, and restart your computer.

The test was carried out on a clean installation of Windows 10 downloaded from the Microsoft website, without installing any software or drivers to avoid contaminating the test.

Step by step;

1- First I will show that the visual bug in Windows search does not happen.

1.1- To produce the visual bug in the Windows search bar immediately, you must right-click on the Windows logo, select Apps and Resources, you have to use the search within Apps and Resources even if you are viewing the application for force the bug to appear, I will search for calculator, then I will click on advanced options, then I will click on Terminate and then Reset, finally I will select the search bar for the bug to appear.

1.2- The visual bug will not appear now because I will first show the search bar working normally.

2- I will show why the bug was happening to me and hundreds if not thousands of people.

2.3- If you activate the options "Automatically correct words as I type" and "Show text suggestions based on the recognized languages ​​you are typing" the visual bug in Windows search does not occur" only if you activate the option "Show text suggestions as I type"

Note: The options “Automatically correct words as I type” does not work, it does not correct absolutely anything as you type and “Show text suggestions based on the recognized languages ​​you are typing“ also does not work, it does not provide text suggestions in other languages, two functions that do absolutely nothing.

2.4- By leaving the ""Show text suggestions as I type" option enabled, I believe it was also reactivating "News and Interests" even after disabling it, but I need to do more testing to confirm.

Note: I forced the bug to appear to prove who was causing the failure, without doing the procedure above but leaving “Show text suggestions as I type” activated, the graphical failure of Windows search happens randomly, that is, when activating other Parts of the system may also be causing the graphical failure in Windows search, in addition to the one shown in the video.
