Windows 10: Applications launched on secondary displays hang in Windows 11

Hi,I'm having an issue with launching a set of applications after upgrading to Windows 11 from Windows 10. The applications in question are custom displays for a flight simulator built using a 3rd party software package. They are standalone executables that I launch via command line with a specification of where and how big to draw the window with xpos/ypos/width/height flags and they are displayed on a 4 screen setup. I've never had an issues with launching these programs previously, but after upgrading the computer that runs them I'm encountering a strange issue: I can run the executables wi

Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

Steps to confirm issue:

• Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
• Secondary drive not visible in device manager
• Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

Steps to replicate issue:

• Installing 1909 update

Steps to resolve issue:

• Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

 

Repositioning app window on dual monitor, Windows 10

In this case, we would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check.

1. Launch Skype.
2. Drag the Skype Window to secondary monitor.
3. Resize the window as per your preference.
4. Maximize the Window and Restore Down.
5. Then close the skype window in secondary monitor.
6. Then try re-launching and check if the issue resolves.

Can't launch any applications

Hi,

This error message will show if the application or program that you are trying to open was been blocked by Windows Defender SmartScreen. Having said that, we suggest that you disable Windows Defender SmartScreen by following these steps:

• Click on Start.
• Type Windows Defender Security Center.
• Click on App & browser control.
• Click on Off in the following options:
  • Check apps and files.
  • SmartScreen for Microsoft Edge.
  • SmartScreen for Windows Store apps.
• SmartScreen is now completely disabled. If you'd like to still receive a warning when a potentially malicious file or program is detected, you can choose Warn in each SmartScreen option.
