  1. Applications shared across the device - Will only launch for one user,

I have had one Windows user account on a desktop for awhile. Tonight I created a second user under my Family 365 account. The applications on the device are on a shared folder outside of the users folders. When I log in as the new Windows user I can see all of the applications that are shared across the device. However, any attempt to launch them fails. In fact it appeared to launch them under the other user at times. Verified that the security of the app is identical for both users and tried "launching as a different user" - all had no effect. The specific application that I was trying to lau

  2. Unable to launch applications in RDP session

Issue: User is unable to launch applications when connected to a device through RDP

    To clarify:

RDP connection itself is successful. User is can access device. But when user clicks an application, it does not launch.

User IS able to launch applications when signed into destination device directly.

Other users are not encountering issues opening applications when connected via RDP on the same devices.

Issue seems to occur only on this users specific profile.

    Any suggestions?

  3. Cannot access shared network drive

I could scream! so much time wasted on this stupid error, as if time is not precious enough!
It probably would work fine if I could see the other computer! But I cannot see the other computer!

  4. Applications shared across the device - Will only launch for one user,

Installing Applications to Select User Accounts

    Hi Lucas,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are trying to avoid the access of all the application in all users. We will help you try resolving this issue.

I suggest you to check while installing any software it gives an option to install on all users or any particular user only.

However this would be application specific to manufacturer.

You can try following the below steps also and check if it helps.

    • When you install the software or an application, it makes a shortcut or copy to the public folder where all the users can access the application.
    • Open C:\ Drive and select Users.
    • Select Public, select the files which you don't want to be used by other users and delete the files or Cut and paste in Admin account folder.
Note: To perform this steps be logged into Admin user.

Keep us posted to help you better.
