Applications Still Saving to C: Drive After Image Restore

I am trying to download my OS to my SSD, and have all my files and applications save to my HDD. All the files, documents, pictures etc. all save to the D: drive, but the apps still save to the C: drive even after changing the paths.

I feel like I have done everything under the sun to try and solve this issue, including an image restore that from what I've read would solve the problem 100%. I did the image restore using Macrium Reflect, loaded the image restore files applied them to the correct partitions/drives and then went directly to settings and set my Apps, documents, etc to save to D: drive, restarted my PC, tried installing a program and it still saves to C:

So I must be doing something wrong with the Restore Image File, am I supposed to select the app's path in Macrium Reflect when booting from a USB? I didn't see any options to do this. I selected the image file, and copied it to the appropriate drive/partition.

I found an article about the image restore idea from an expert member of the Microsoft community Here, but there were no instructions on what to do while restoring the backup image to change the path of applications to another my D: drive. You can find the article with the Macrium Restore/Backup Image instructions Here.

    What I've Tried:

    - Clean Boot State

    - Disable Antivirus

    - Image File Restore

    - And a couple other things I don't remember it all off the top of my head

If anyone has some ideas or can provide a solution, that would be amazing!

    Thank you!

    :)

Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect

In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.
    1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
    2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
    3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination

    4. Proceed to restore then Shutdown and disconnect the old HD and replace with the new HD
    5. Boot up with your new HD.

Applications Still Saving to C: Drive After Image Restore

How to restore Windows 10 system image to a new hard drive?

    Thank you,

You said "So, in order to do this, you'll have to unplug the main disk (actual C:/), and use the windows recovery tool to restore the drive image that you created, on the second drive (let's say
    D:/)
    "

    1. unplug the main disk(C:/).
    2. plug the second drive (where the system image saved) into my PC.
    3. connect recovery tool.
    4. reboot my PC for the recovery tool, restore the image to the new drive then.
    Did I make it right?

More details about what you answer, please!
