Windows 10: Applications that showed up when I search in the search bar on the taskbar no longer appear

I recently reinstalled windows after an update that corrupted my windows installation, and I managed to salvage the contents of the drive, like programs, program data etc. I copied these files over to the new installation and the applications, once launched, work perfectly fine. However, I cannot find them if I search for them using the search bar and have to navigate through file explorer to find them each time. I also don't like shortcuts on my desktop background as it doesn't look pleasant aesthetically for me, so is there anyway that I can get windows to detect these applications so that I

Please try the below and check if you can see search bar on taskbar:

Steps:

• Right click on Taskbar, move the mouse cursor on to
  Search option.
• Select Show Search icon (You will see Search icon beside Start)
• Select Show search bar (You will see Search bar beside Start)
