Windows 10: applications unable to open correctly.

Ive been trying to download some games to play on my pc, its a hp windows 10 64 laptop. im not sure if this issue is just because its a laptop or not, however its very annoying. im able to download the context and it appears on my desktop but they always have the shield icon on them. i thought since there was the shield i should need to run the game as an administrator. its always the same issue, no matter what game, ill run it and it will ask if the game can make changes to the desktop, if i click no it doesnt do anything at all. if i click yes it just tells me my application was unable to

or control panel is not opening. please help me. i have an exam in a month and all my materials are in the laptop and i cannot open anything at all.

He already did that. The list of what the OP tried is long and it includes pretty much everything I'm aware of *Sad

How about temporary disable AV and any antiransomware product, and run Office repair again?

Edit: just now have i finished reading the part of the post describing how you deleted Windows.old.
This could be related. Normally, Windows doesn't need that old installation, but in some cases, some files could be needed..


Try with Repair install of the Windows.
