Windows 10: Applying mpam-fe.exe updates offline repeatedly fails

In the last few weeks, the standalone offline mpam-fe.exe package has stopped updating. I download it periodically on a daily basis from this link:https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=121721&arch=x64Obviously from the URL this the 64-bit version.This is the error that the mpsigstub.exe executable reports on every attempt to update signatures offline; I am highlighting just the bottom of log file here.mpasdlta.vdm version in package is 1.339.1645.0, but after update machine has older version 1.339.1577.0 mpavdlta.vdm version in package is 1.339.1645.0, but after update machine has old

Unable update a latest security in Windows 10

Hi,

I disabled anti-virus and firewall then I tried click "Retry" button but still same problem. I downloaded mpam-fe.exe then I open mpam-fe,exe but it will not open file.

 

Windows Update continually fails

I manually downloaded the latest update for Windows Defender and followed the instructions.

• Check whether your version of
  Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit.
• In the table below, right-click on the link that will work for your version of
  Windows and choose Save target as... or Save link as...
• Save the file to your Desktop.
• When the file has finished downloading, go to your Desktop and double-click the file (it will be called
  mpam-fe.exe, mpas-fe.exe, or mpam-feX64.exe).
• Follow the prompts to install the update.

On double-clicking the mpam-fe.exe file on my Desktop it did nothing.
