Windows 10: AppModel-Runtime error

Evening y'all. Is anyone experiencing this error on their windows 10 machines? Past couple of weeks I've been experiencing an issue with my gaming rig, where it will randomly restart without any user interaction or after I've been playing a game / browsing the web.

Now first of all I assumed it was thermals or the PSU. Both seem fine to me. CPU (2700x) reaches 45-50 whilst gaming. GPU (GTX 1070) 50-60 under load.

Next I ran memtest 86 for five times and no issues were found. I've checked the 5v voltages, 12v and 3v. All are within the 5% threshold.

Then I completed a bios update for my mobo (x470 gaming plus) and completed a full GPU driver uninstall using DDU.

Furthermore I've changed power setting to ultimate performance and high performance. Changed screen timeout to off and sleep to never. Minimum process state 5%.

I've taken focus assist off and whilst gaming and full screen apps.

Finally I've run dism /online /cleanup-image/ health heck and restorehealth on power shell. And run an SFC scannow to find any registery issues.

All have come back fine.

However this one error is constantly present before the machine mysteriously restarts. The reboot isn't an obvious BSOD as there is no BSOD message present. I've turned off automatic restart and fast boot, to see if I can get a BSOD screen when it happens.

I've also turned VSS in services to automatically start, as it was off, thinking this was the issue.

However the AppModel Runtime error still constantly appears in event viewer.

Now from some googling I can see that this error has started appear alongside the 2004 update.

Is their a fix? Or am I stuck until Microsoft provide a fix?

How to solve AppModel Runtime

Hi,

My name is Mohammed Shuaib, an Independent Advisor and I'm here to assist you with the issue AppModel Runtime errors in event viewer. Please follow the below to fix the issue.

Step 1:

Right click on Windows icon and select RUN

Step 2:

Type regedit and press enter

Step 3:

Navigate to below

\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Channels\Microsoft-Windows-AppModel-Runtime/Admin

Step 4:

Double click on "Enabled" to change value from 1 to 0

Step 5:

Close Registry editor and then restart system.

Let me know the status after performing the above.

I'm getting the same as well. I've done a clean install of Windows 10 Pro too and still no change. Was receiving this error prior to installation of any non-native applications and post Windows update.

Failed with 0x57 retrieving AppModel Runtime status for package Windows

and then System and EventData as per M.Onur's comment.
