Approve continuous restarts on Windows 10 Updates

    Hello:

I am performing fresh installs of Windows 10 Pro on 18 computers for a school lab, with each install being done manually. There are a lot of updates and our connection is slow. It would be helpful if there was a way to set up Windows to automatically restart whenever new updates are downloaded and installed.

As of now, every time a fresh set of updates is downloaded and installed I can get one scheduled restart to occur, but when I re-scan for further updates I have to either manually restart the machines when prompted or set another scheduled restart.

What I want is for Windows to continually scan for updates, download them, install them, restart when necessary -- and repeat the process, unattended, until all updates are downloaded and installed. I want to leave this process to run over night and come back to a readied machine. Instead, it seems Windows is assuming I just want to automate the installation of a single batch of updates, with the end result being that I have to babysit all these machines looking for new batches of updates and their restart prompts.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

    :)

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Approve continuous restarts on Windows 10 Updates :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.

    Windows 10 update being enabled.

Anyway , You are luckier than me. My computer was locked directly after updated to Windows 10 . but the solution is easy.

    Windows 10 fails to update

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
