Windows 10: Apps and Features option is missing from my settings. I'm not in S mode either.

I wanted to disable background apps to clear up some ram usage and I'm not able to since I can't see the Apps and Features options when I select apps within the settings app. I'm running Windows 11 Home edition, it is not in S mode. I have tried a couple fixes but none of them worked for me.

Computer Sleep Option Missing in Settings

The Settings Power and Sleep menu in Settings should list Screen and Sleep, where Sleep is used to tell when the PC goes to sleep. Sleep is missing, so my computer never sleeps. Fast startup and Hibernate are not enabled.

I used Tutorial Add or Remove Sleep in Power menu in Windows 10 to change the registry while in administrative mode, but sleep still is not seen.


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FlyoutMenuSettings now lists :1: It was 0 before the change.






I cannot get a large image, so will type
Default REG_SZ (value not set)
ShowHibernate REG_DWORD 0X00000000 (0)
ShowLockOption REG_DWORD 0X00000000 (1)
ShowLockOption REG_DWORD 0X00000000 (1)

I used Option 3 to add sleep using the Group Policy Editor. The steps seemed to work fine, but sleep is still missing.

I’m using a “new” refurbished Dell T3500 workstation with mbr running the current version of win10. I have a number of these computers, and the other all have the normal sleep mode .

Any suggestions? Jim

 

How to remove all entries in windows 10 Optional Feature History

To help you with your concern, we suggest that you try to follow the steps provided below:

• Open Settings > System, and select Apps & features from the left side.
• Click on the Manage optional features link.
• To remove an app or a feature, select the feature and click on the Uninstall button.

1. Which version of Windows is currently installed on the system?
   

Developer mode will be installed on the system, if it is enabled in the Settings. Let us go ahead and check the settings to turn off Developer Features.

1. Navigate to Settings > Update and Security > For developer.
   
2. Under Use developer features
   check if Developer mode is checked, Select Sideload Apps from the options, and Developer mode will get unchecked automatically.
   
3. After this steps, check for Windows update, and all the features should be installed automatically.
   

If you still face the issue, reply to this post with answers to the question above.
