    Apps box (bottom left toolbar) and Cortana visible, not responding


    In the bottom left is an "apps" looking box, the microsoft four square icon, that should be clickable to lead to what used to be the start-up menu, and also shows apps. Both this and the Cortana circle and message are visible, but neither respond to clicking. So, for example, I can't access "Settings", or any feature that is not already pinned to my toolbar.
    I installed W10 about 3 days ago, and this was working. Suddenly today it isn't. I tried "hard reset" by pushing the off on button (can't find any other reset or start button), but the same thing is happening on the restart.
    Help most appreciated.

    Windows 10 Critical Error Start Menu and Cortana are Turned Off

    I reinstalled Windows 10 from an ISO DVD, and when it came back I had no search or Cortana function. Neither the "Search the Web and Windows" box on the bottom nor the search in the right-click in the bottom-left Windows icon respond. The Cortana and
    Search box in settings won't open either.

    start , ie for internet and cortana are not responding to a left click

    Start on bottom left of screen, ie for internet and Cortana not responding to left click. I am running Windows 10.

    Right click brings up options, not all work. Apps like excel seem to be fine.

    Also the Windows icon key on my keyboard does not do anything. Is it supposed to?
