Sorry, this post is long but I have been at this issue a long time.

Applications are unable to send a print job to the printer. I have been unable to fix this after trying everything I could find on the net. On a couple occasions I was able to print with MS Word and once with Photoshop. But ability to print went away with system restart.

I have 2 printers, both printers have same results, or lack thereof:

• Envy 5530, drivers have been uninstalled and reinstalled with updates a few times, there wereerror. At present the drivers are uninstalled.
• Deskjet 8700 newly installed yesterday, no errors reported. The desktop app ["C:\Program Files\HP\HP OfficeJet 8700\Bin\HP OfficeJet 8700.exe" -Start UDCDevicePage] for this printer can communicate with the printer – ink levels, the test print requested from this app succeeds. I can even scan to my printer. But when I send a print job from an app, any app, nothing happens. “see what’s Printing” opened from the desktop app is an empty field. I have deleted the spooler content a couple of times, but it did not help. C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS currently contains:

The following is a list of what has been checked/done so far to solve this problem, some of the diagnostics/troubleshoots have been done several times.

• Router setting have been checked and confirmed as OK by ISP
• The NET has been reset (couple of weeks ago by now)
• I have run (a few times) the HP Print and Scan Doctor, current version which found not issues.
• I have run the windows network trouble shooter – no help.
• Ran windows-10-fix-printer-problems - didn’t help.
• After 2 hours of trouble shooting with Bitdefender, I have completely uninstalled it to assure it is not blocking access.
• Though Windows defender is now running (I need to have something) I tried printing with Defender completely disabled as well (including firewall) and still no printing.
• I can email docs to HPePrint which do print locally.
• I went through a long series of step directed by HP support (prior to 8700 install) which I quit when I reached the part where they wanted me to delete all services other MS ones.

I’m sure I am forgetting some things but hopefully this will get a helpful discussion going.

Network printing with OneNote App?

• What is the make and model of your computer?
• Did you make any recent software or hardware changes to your computer?

Since OneNote and Edge are Windows store app, Chances are apps could be corrupted or missing Suggest you to follow below methods and check if it in fixing the issue.

Method 3: I suggest you to follow the steps below to print documents in the Windows 10 Edge browser and check if it helps:

• 
  Once the document is open in Edge, press
  Ctrl+P or More actions button at the top last end of the browser.
  
• 
  Click Print as PDF button.
  
• 
  Check if the document prints as expected.

Windows 10 Mail app won't print some messages

We appreciate that you perform the steps that we've provided. We'd like to know if you're able to print files when using other applications. Since you mentioned that the issue still persists, we suggest that you uninstall the Windows 10 Mail app
using the Windows PowerShell. To do this, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Click Start, type Windows PowerShell, right-click on it, then select
  Run as administrator.
• Enter the command below:
  • Get-AppxPackage *windowscommunicationsapps* | Remove-AppxPackage, then press
    Enter.

Once done, we suggest that you download theWindows 10 Mail and Calendar app from the
Windows Store.

Print to PDF missing in Printer List

Hi William,

We suggest that you disable and re-enable the Print to PDF feature. Here are the steps:

• Click on the Start menu and type in Windows Features.
• Choose Turn Windows features on or off.
• On the next window, find Microsoft Print to PDF and disable it. Click
  OK to save changes.
• Restart your PC.
• Repeat the same steps to re-enable Microsoft Print to PDF.
