Windows 10: Apps crashing immediately upon opening them; unique to certain Microsoft Corporation apps

Hello,Recently, I was trying to open a photo through the photos app, and it was not working. Right after I open it, the photos app closes within <1 second. I can see it attempt to open, but it doesn't, and no error code is shown.Turns out, this same exact thing is happening for the following apps and possibly more:Movies and TVPhotosMicrosoft StoreMedia PlayerOnly Microsoft apps appear to be affected by this. I will add that recently when I restarted my pc, it says that the hard drive was corrupted and that the computer was fixing it. I have tried everything, from repairing / resetting the

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

Apps Immediately Crash


Hi Everyone,
I've run into this problem where I'm offline and I open a modern app, I might see the app for a moments, but then immediately closes or crashes. It doesn't seem to happen to the mall/calendar app that comes with Windows 10.

I've noticed though that sometimes after I connect to the internet later on the a the app will then work. The app doesn't use the internet.

Sometimes I may need to reboot and connect to the Internet, then open the app and it works. I've tested with just reboots and that doesn't always work.

The only thing I can guess is it's trying to pong the mothership [emoji1]. It happens to free and paid apps. But it doesn't appear to happen to any apps that

This has happened even after a fresh install of the OS. I've previously uninstall/reinstall the app and it will still do it. It doesn't always do it, so I can't find consistency.
