Windows 10: Apps crashing with the error memory could not be written

    Apps crashing with the error memory could not be written


    I have recently purchased Forza Horizon 4 on steam and everytime i try to run this game it crashes with the below error. I reached out to game support but they informed that this is actually a issue with my OS. I tried running the game in safe mode and it works perfectly. disabling the apps from startup also did not work. I also tried running CMD command sfc /scannow but it ended useless as well. It would be really great if anyone can help me to resolve this issue. I use Asus Zephyrus G14 2020.

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
    Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
    If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

    P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
    Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
    What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

    Windows Photos App crashes

    So since today my Photos App is crashing as soon as i open it. It goes into a blackscreen for about 2-3 Seconds and than crashes.

    Information about the error:
    This Crash is generating chrash dumps that contain the error code 0xC0000602 in module mrt100_app.dll or 0xc000027b in module twinapi.appcore.dll.

    I found two intresting facts about the error:
    - If I try a system restore to a point created 3 days ago, the App starts working again. A few minutes after using the system, the app starts crashing again.
    - I created a new local account and the app does seem to work on that new account until now.

    Steps I have tried:
    - Reinstall Photos app by uninstalling it using Powershell and rerisntalling it - did not change anything
    - Reregister the App - did not change anything
    - Scan the System with sfc and dism - no errors
    - Use System resstore - see above, did only work for a few minutes.

    Microsoft Support suggested reinstalling Windows, but I do non really want to reinstall the whole system just because one app is not working...

    I understand that you are unable to launch Microsoft Solitaire Collection and it crashes when you launch it, we will look into this for you. However, please reply with the following details to help you with the appropriate troubleshooting steps:



    • What happens when you launch Microsoft Solitaire Collection?
    • Do you read any error message when you launch the game? If yes, what is the error message?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?


    In the meantime, I suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article

    Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store     and see if that helps.
