Windows 10: "Apps & features" window keeps disappearing

A recent Windows 10 update ran into trouble on my PC due to lack of space on the C drive. In order to create some space I would like to uninstall some redundant apps, but for some mysterious reason the "Apps & features" window keeps disappearing without trace or error message.In other words, if I open the "Apps & features" window via Settings > Apps, the window starts populating the apps list but then consistently crashes without trace or error message.Any suggestions for how to resolve this issue?Thank you.

The 'Photos' app for photo viewing has disappeared.

I do not understand this, when I returned to the PC later today my original settings had returned to the start screen, including one other tile which I had also lost but had not yet re-instated. Also the original list of 'All apps' had returned to the start
screen, including 'Photos'. There is nothing that I am aware of having done that should have caused the original disappearance of some apps from the 'All apps' list and their associated tiles, or that could have caused them to return.

It has therefore been unnecessary to follow your suggested steps, though I have done so anyway and it works as suggested. Note that I had followed your steps 1 & 2 earlier which is why I knew 'Photos' had not disappeared from the PC but was simply not
visible on the 'All apps' list and hence my inability to re-pin the tile.

Audio Enhancements Keep Disappearing

I did what was suggested, but my model list looks different from the one shown in the tutorial provided.





I chose the Realtek High Definition Audio, since that's the one I (think) I've selecting through my method mentioned in my original post. Can't tell yet if that's permanently fixed the issue, so I'll get back to this thread if anything's changed or not after a couple of days.

 

The Great Disappearing Notepad App

With the update to 2004 Notepad has become an optional feature. If it is installed you should fin it listed in Apps > Apps & features > Optional features.









If it is not listed there, you should be able to click on 'Add a feature' to find and install it.

This is not the first report of Notepad going missing after the update to 2004, it has also been reported here. Though I have updated several machines now without it going missing.
